|Blog begun in March, 2009, aiming to "stick a snout in the media trough and sniff out the maths rubbish." MathsPig has since evolved to "use basic but elegant maths to make realistic problems for students to solve, e.g. 'Can you duck a bullet?'" Posts have included "Year 7: G8 Word Maze," "Graphs for the Lost and Bewildered," "Stuntman Maths: Car Stunts," "How many bedrooms in Australia?" and "How long would a tiger take to eat the principal?" and "Can you duck a golf ball?" and "How to Biff a Boffin!" A humourist, mathematician, and journalist, the author studied science and engineering at Melbourne University, then taught maths and science for a decade before writing humor books and contributing articles for newspapers such as The Canberra Times.|
