Bootstrap's free materials include a nine-unit algebra course that applies mathematical concepts and programming principles to the creation of a simple 3-character video game involving a player, a target and a danger; students design what each character looks like, and use algebraic concepts to detect collisions, handle keystrokes, and determine how they move and interact. Bootstrap's research efforts receive support from the National Science Foundation (NSF).|
