| The Center, directed by Ronald Thornton, develops curricula, activities, and computer tools which allow students to participate actively in their own learning and to construct scientific knowledge for themselves, learning directly from the physical world. The Center's substantial conceptual-learning research and evaluation program guides the development of materials such as Microcomputer-Based Laboratory [MBL] tools for simultaneous measuring and graphing of such physical quantities as position, velocity, acceleration, force, temperature, light intensity, pH, pressure, sound pressure, radiation, current and voltage. | |
