[edit] Getting Started

To post in the community portal you will need to have a Math & Art Wiki account. It is free and everyone is welcome. Go here to create an account or here to login if you already have one.

To add or edit a post you must edit the page. Editing the Community Portal works just like editing any other page on the wiki. For help editing, see the New User Guide.

When you edit on the Community portal or any other talk page, it is important to sign your comments. Simply adding three tildes "~~~" (without quotes) signs your user-name. Four tildes "~~~~" signs your name and adds a time-stamp.

[edit] Privacy

Everything written in the Community Portal is public, just like the rest of the site. Therefore, you should not write anything that is not appropriate for all people and ages. This also means that your posts are not protected. Anyone can edit any post. Please Don't Edit Other People's Posts.

[edit] Organization

The Community Portal is organized into three main sections. Please place posts under the appropriate heading. Discussion of a particular page should go on that page's talk page. The talk page can be accessed by going to the page and clicking 'discuss this page' or by going directly to the talk page 'talk:page name'. For example, discussion of the Community Portal page should go on the page Talk:Community Portal.

[edit] Discussion Topics

The Portal is open to all Math & Art discussions. Simply create a link to a topic in the list of topics. A page with the same name is automatically generated. Discussion of the topic, with sections and subsections, can be done on this page. Please indent replies by using one or more colons. Please do not make discussion topics that could be sections or subsections of an already existing topic. Please avoid redundant topics or posts.

[edit] Community Bulletin Board

The community Bulletin Board is for announcements, news, and other time-related posts. Please use a time-stamp when posting in this section.

[edit] Help Out

The Help Out section is for discussion of any Math & Art Projects that require work. Work to be done to this wiki is listed Things to do on this wiki. Collaborative projects are to go in the Collaborations sections. All other efforts should be discussed in the Things to do in the world section.
