Math & Art Courses
From Math and Art
The beginning material is taken from the SIGMAA-ARTS correspondence. I worked for a half hour putting it up (wiki's are so easy!) and came to Anne Burns' letter of 1/21/07 stating that she planned to make a web page on the SIGMAA-ARTS website. It now exists: http://myweb.cwpost.liu.edu/aburns/sigmaa-arts/courses.html.
I think I'll leave this here in case anyone wants to experiment with putting up their own material (very easy and fast and doesn't need Anne's valuable time). Perhaps there's room for both Anne's page and this as well. What do you think? (put comments right here if you wish). Gene 10:25, 3 June 2007 (EDT)
Mathematics Across the Curriculum Project at Dartmouth College. The website http://www.dartmouth.edu/~matc/math5.pattern/syllabus.html still contains a good deal of the material from a Pattern course taught in Spring 1996. It has the advantage of containing both mathematics and art projects throughout.
Another course from the Mathematics Across the Curriculum Project at Dartmouth College is "Geometry in Art and Architecure," by Paul Calter. See: http://www.math.dartmouth.edu/~matc/math5.geometry/
Geometry and the Art of Design, Lasse Savola
Mathematics in Art and Architecture, Helmer Aslaksen
Mathematics for Art and Design, Doris Schattschneider
Annalisa Crannell's homepage, with various possible resources about math and art classes and workshops. (Should this link go here, or somewhere else? I wasn't sure... ~ Rblack1)
