The Math Forum has great respect for the synergy between art and mathematics and knows well that together they can inspire wonderful learning possibilities. For example, we had the pleasure of working with Carol Bier of the Textile Museum in 1997 to produce Symmetry and Pattern: The Art of Oriental Carpets, http://mathforum.org/geometry/rugs/ . The site has been heavily used and has garnered an average of an award per year. Viewer comments bear testimony to the value of this marriage.

In recent years there has been a blossoming of organizations, conferences, and publications devoted to mathematics and art, and we would like to help this community grow and communicate. We happily give you this wiki and are receptive for your other ideas for interaction.
