From Math and Art

Jump to: navigation, search

I've always been interested in mathematics, and also in art. Last fall I was thrilled to discover that there is a burgeoning mathematics and art community replete with organizations, publications, meetings, and a great deal more.

I was honored to be invited to the workshop Innovations in Mathematics Education via the Arts, held in Banff this January. There I met wonderful people with broad interests and considerable talents.

The only thing that the community seemed to lack was a good means of being a community at a distance, collaborating and sharing information in a way that anyone could easily update. In short, a wiki. I offered to construct one and give it to the community and took down ideas from the participants. Here it is!

Please browse through this site and try adding or correcting just one thing. I'll help if our directions aren't sufficient.

Looking forward to learning more from you,
