Presentation Summary


This is the summary of a presentation given at the 74th Annual NCTM Meeting, 25-28 April 1996, San Diego, CA.

This session is designed for teachers who want experiences with the following methods of alternative assessment: Analyzing and scoring portfolios (Elementary, Middle, and High School) using a Holistic Scoring Guide. Solving and analyzing open-response questions, reviewing the accompanying scoring guide and student responses. Participating in a performance-based activity which requires both group and individual responses and reviewing the accompanying scoring guide.
