The Nuts and Bolts of Alternative Assessment

This session is designed for teachers who want experiences with the following methods of alternative assessment: Analyzing and scoring portfolios (Elementary, Middle, and High School) using a Holistic Scoring Guide. Solving and analyzing open-response questions, reviewing the accompanying scoring guide and student responses. Participating in a performance-based activity which requires both group and individual responses and reviewing the accompanying scoring guide. Designing alternative assessment items that link curriculum and instruction. Participants, please bring your calculators.
