Back to NCTM San Diego: Interdisciplinary Math

This is the summary of a presentation given at the 74th Annual NCTM Meeting, 25-28 April 1996, San Diego, CA.

Multicultural areas in Mathematics can be reached through food and food studies. Interdisciplinary connections readily occur through the study of using existing restaurant menus and creating and devising ones. Money skills, marketing skills, as well as problem solving, communication, connecting and reasoning are covered within this unit of study.
