Investigations in Math and Science or Sailing Together on Tin Pan Lake

A potpourri of integrated mathematics and science investigations will be presented. Some of the investigations include the Million Dollar Suitcase; Geoball; The Mouse, the Elephant and the Grobeast; Designing Boats for Tin Plan Lake; and activities from the Rivers Project adapted to middle school. Several of the investigations are presented in scenario format. In several of the activities there is a focus on deciding what information is needed in order to solve a "real world" problem and obtaining that information.
