Presentation Summary


This is the summary of a presentation given at the 74th Annual NCTM Meeting, 25-28 April 1996, San Diego, CA.

In this session we will present examples of dilemmas faced by a teacher during the early stages of implementing mathematics instructional reform, discuss how the teacher came to "manage" the dilemmas, and look at how dilemmas salient in the early stages of reform play out over time.
