This is the summary of a presentation given at the 74th Annual NCTM Meeting, 25-28 April 1996, San Diego, CA.
Experiences of 7th and 8th graders in constructing mathematical ideas involving symmetries, transformations, scaling, one and two-point perspective will be shared. Evaluation of students and student projects will be shared as well. The ability of average students to use the Geometer's Sketchpad, with meaning is the central focus of this presentation.
