Presentation Summary


This is the summary of a presentation given at the 74th Annual NCTM Meeting, 25-28 April 1996, San Diego, CA.

Mathematics, science, and technology come alive in this presentation through the description of the courses at an innovative state summer center for gifted and talented students at the middle and high school level. CMST (the Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology) presents students and faculty with a unique opportunity that challenges their intellects through a variety of courses, including: Fractals and Chaos, the Electric Car, Rocketry and Aeronautics, Digital Logic, and Codes, Chance, and Games. This presentation will include a description of these courses as well as the staff development opportunities for teachers.
