Classroom use in Courses and Topics: Math 7: Geometry in the plane, Geometry in space |
Duration of classroom use: Multiple Weeks |
What did students learn? Students learned how to visualize and conceptualize 3D geometric configurations. |
What did students do with the resource? Practiced and reinforced a concept that was difficult to learn in class with only the book and worksheets. |
How hard was it for students to use? Easy |
Other classroom comments: Reluctant students warmed up to this very quickly. Overall, this is a very successful way to teach the TAKS 7.8A Texas math standard. |
Appropriate for: introduction to a concept, practice of skills and understandings, applications of a concept or technique, advanced investigations |
Other Comments: Will investigate others in this series. Even our principal was impressed. |
What math does one need to know to use the resource? Basic geometry concepts that every 7th grader should know. |
What hardware expertise does one need to learn to use the resource? Basic computer skills. |
What extra things must be done to make it work? None. |
How hard was it for you to learn? Very Easy |
Explanation: First, I investigated the program. Then it took only a 30 second demonstration to teach every student in my class how to operate the program. Students can't wait until we do this again. |
Ability to meet my goals: Very Effective |
Recommended for: Math 7: Geometry in the plane, Geometry in space |
