Classroom use in Courses and Topics: Geometry: Perimeter, area, and volume |
Duration of classroom use: One Class |
What did students learn? I used this for demonstrations of solids of rotation (along with physical models) |
What did students do with the resource? Students observed one day; another day, I noticed students using the tool to explore solids of rotation. |
How hard was it for students to use? Very Easy |
Appropriate for: introduction to a concept |
What math does one need to know to use the resource? None. Theorem of Pappas is a natural talking point |
What hardware expertise does one need to learn to use the resource? None |
How hard was it for you to learn? Very Easy |
Explanation: "Closing off" the shape to be rotated was the only hard part... the pointer/mouse interface would have been easier in "snap to grid" form. |
Ability to meet my goals: Effective |
Recommended for: Geometry: Perimeter, area, and volume |
Tool: Lathe Review
