Other Comments: This is a good tool for early grades to explore the use of directions. Children must problem solve to help guide the ladybug reach the leaf. I think the children would enjoy this once they understand the concept. I found additional activities within the tool such as guiding the ladybug to trace a stop sign, and a speed limit sign. I had trouble with this because the signs did not appear on the ladybug screen. The kids will have to look at the sign on the side of the screen and then just think about how to trace it. This might be tricky. Also, when the stop sign and other signs are displayed ont he side of the screen, it blocks the user from seeing some of the buttons necessary for navigation. I could not make the area with the signs smaller or minimize them to see the full screen. |
What math does one need to know to use the resource? patterns, knowledge of lines and angles |
What hardware expertise does one need to learn to use the resource? use of the computer/mouse |
What extra things must be done to make it work? none |
How hard was it for you to learn? Ok |
Explanation: I thought that the displays of the traffic signs made it difficult to use the game itself because they blocked the view. If you are only using the leaf game, it was fine. |
Ability to meet my goals: Effective |
