Great tool for teacher to use to introduce the topic of adding and subtracting using a number line, negative numbers and fractions.
What math does one need to know to use the resource?
Understanding of addition and subtraction. Use of a number line.
What hardware expertise does one need to learn to use the resource?
Mouse use (click and drag)
What extra things must be done to make it work?
Figure out how to use tool: Choose step size, play with adding bars, dragging the number bar to correct position and clicking and dragging the arrow to change size of the number bar.
How hard was it for you to learn?
Ok
Explanation:
Did not see any directions. Had to use manipulative to figure it out. Relatively easy for an adult to figure out, but students would likely need directions.
