Other Comments: This would be good to review all the concepts needed to graph rational functions. |
What math does one need to know to use the resource? How to graph rational functions:
1. Locate x- and y-intercepts
2. Locate vertical and horizontal asymptotes
3. Locate holes, and where the function is positive and negative
|
What hardware expertise does one need to learn to use the resource? Just how to access the Internet |
What extra things must be done to make it work? You had to use the mouse to locate the coordinates as precisely as possible...you can't just point to the x-axis and think that it will pick it up. You have to look at the coordinates to be SURE you are on a point on the x-axis. Since there is no grid, you must use the coordinates to locate holes as well. |
How hard was it for you to learn? Ok |
Explanation: It's easy to answer the questions, but VERY difficult to interpret the feedback that is given. When they say ONE ERROR, and then tell you to click on the buttons to find where the error is, it's almost impossible to tell what ONE thing you missed. It's extremely frustrating, and I was never sure WHY I missed what I did with the signs and behavior buttons. It would be so much more effective if feedback was given after each step. I think the tool would be much more effective with step-by-step feedback, and then start giving feedback after every two steps, and then after every three steps etc. |
