Review based on: personal experience, student observations |
Appropriate for: practice of skills and understandings, applications of a concept or technique |
Other Comments: The concept of probability here is easily understood and is motivating because it is fun. |
What math does one need to know to use the resource? In order to make predictive conclusions, & to be able to come up with their own individual probability problems, students will at least need to know multiplication & division.
The concept itself is so simply demonstrated, students actually need to know little about math to understand it. |
What hardware expertise does one need to learn to use the resource? none |
What extra things must be done to make it work? Nothing. It is the epitome of 'user friendly'. |
How hard was it for you to learn? Very Easy |
Explanation: Simply make your selections of the number of prizes you want to consider, and press 'Run Simulation'. The program even runs a log that allows you to see trends, averages, etc. |
Ability to meet my goals: Very Ineffective |
