response : the variable X has a numerical coefficiant
of 1.>     X = 1x
if X has an exponent of one , then X would
be equall to itself or X .  X^1
suppose X has an exponent of zero.X^0 then  X^0 = 1
X to the 2nd power is : X times X = X^2

e.g.    3^2  three to the 2nd power is :
3 times 3 = 9

these explanations may solve this issue .
