The identity you are trying to prove is not true.  Did you type it
correctly?
I suspect that what you are trying to prove will need the Pythagorean
Identity:
sin squared x + cos squared x = 1,
so that 1 - sin squared x = cos squared x and 1 - cos squared x = sin squared
x.
