http://mathforum.org/dr.math/faq/faq.divideby0.html has some pretty good
explanations, but not the argument I prefer. I usually look at the lefthand
and righthand limits of 1/x as x approaches 0, which proves that it is both
negative infinity and positive infinity (which is "intuitively" impossible).
Note that the esteemed Dr. Ken's argument is pretty much the same thing, but he
goes about it in a different way. In any case, I'm sure that you'll need more
than one explanation to float everyone's boat.
