Subject: Reflections on Day 1: Tool: Understanding Distance, Speed, and Time Author: KimmyG Date: Jun 26 2006
Activity to do with students:  Ascending lines versus descending lines and
Intersecting at a specific point on the graph.

Have students predict coordinates on a line graph that would start at the top of
the graph and descend to the bottom intersecting specific points along the way.

Have students predict coordinates on a line graph that would start at the bottom
of the graph and ascend to the top intersecting specific points along the
way.

Have students predict how two lines on a graph could intersect at a specific
point on the graph and determine the slope of each line.

Any suggestions for expanding this activity at a more challenging level for
students needing additional challenge, for example, our Math Explorer's
students?
