Having the students interact with the graphing tool somewhat removes them from
the problem and allows them to truly see the graph and what it represents. They
are able to see what happens when the parameters are changed. If they are
constructing their own graphs there are numerous opportunities to get lost in
the math, consequently they don't see what is going on.
