as a monday morning math teacher, i would probably start with a lesson on where
we will be ending up as a class. what's our objective here, what are we to
learn, and then start from the beginning. we need to know what a polynomial
looks like, let's don't worry about factoring just yet. let's identify, then
classify polynomials into factoring-type groups (based on the info from the
attached links). and in between each lesson introduce a little history. and as
you all have noted, this is work involving practice, and memorization, just like
learning a foreign language.
