pair of dice or a deck of cards to discuss probability we are playing a game.
Games are great for getting the kid's attention.
I think it would be easy to focus the student's learning. I think it's a matter
of making sure your objectives are clear before you start.
I can think of a couple of ways to use this tool. I could use it as a discovery
tool where the students (who already have knowledge about slope) could
experiment with the program and answer questions about intersection, rates of
speed, etc. We could then regroup and discuss what was learned. I could also use
it while teaching rates of change or systems of equations and use this tool as
an example of the concepts we cover.
