As a trainee teacher i have had the opportunity to teach BODMAS Y7 and Y8 low
ability classes.  How do you inspire and engage pupils.  I have used matching
cards group activity but none the less pupils seem to switch off.  Is it the
notion of 'rules' and having to work out calculations in a specific order that
switches them off?  Pupils have come from KS2 where finding your own strategy is
encouraged greatly?
Or is it me with a problem with BODMAS.
