I agree that letting students work with the graphing tool to answer open-ended
questions is the best way to get them engaged in discovery learning.  I also
think that it is important to allow students to peer tutor each other (by
working in pairs) so that they can brainstorm together. This is also a great
cross-content activity that covers science and math.
