... and read the teacher's edition of your textbook thoroughly. There are often
helpful tips about the common mistakes and misconceptions that students have
about algebra and complete lesson plans, either in the book, on an accompanying
CD, or the publisher's web site. Reading some of the "Ask Dr Math" student
questions here on the Math Forum will also give you an idea of how students see
algebra.
