as: can you start the boy ahead of the girl ( both going in the same direction)
but she uses a greater step size to catch up? How does this appear on the graph?
When the girl and boy are running in opposite directions, what is the
intersection mean? Waht's the difference between time as read on the clock and
time elapsed as taken from a stopwatch? An outside running activity, or perhaps
using low friction carts is useful to show the difference. Kids love
stopwatches! Here's a website for another version of the applet and dealing with
different types of 1-d motion.
