Hi V.J.,

To paste a photo into Sketchpad, copy it in whatever program the photo comes
from. (For instance, if you're in your browser and you right-click an image,
one of the choices probably allows you to copy the image.)

Then go to Sketchpad and choose Edit | Paste Picture.

If you have nothing selected, the picture will be pasted unattached to anything.
If you have a single point selected, the picture will be attached to the point.
If you have two points selected, the picture will appear in the rectangle
defined by the two points.

You can find all this in the Help system. Here's one way: choose Help | Menus,
click on Edit Menu and then Paste, and then click the Picture link.

Alternatively, choose Help | Contents, click the Index tab, and find Pictures in
the index (either by scrolling or by typing the first few letters of the word

You also asked, "Wouldn't I need to have the grid feature on?" Not really --
as soon as you choose any command that needs a coordinate system, Sketchpad will
create one for you. Once the coordinate system is created, you can customize it
by moving the origin and changing the scale.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Scott Steketee
