I'd like to put in a plug for FXDraw.  We've been using it as a school for a
number of years, and are very impressed.
It has a wide range of built in figures, plus Galleries of figures that you can
add to.
We've found the company very supportive - send them a question, they'll send you
an answer veryt promptly.
The company also produces:
FXEquation (so much simpler and intuitive the MS Equation),
FXGraph (an easy to use but very powerful graphing program), and
FXStat - enter a set of values, view the graph (wide range available), look at
the statistics
