independent study services. The big "full service" curricula with technology and
lots of other activities can be intimidating. Succinct textbooks seem to be
more engaging!
The old Algebra: Structure and Method (McDougal Littell) is thus one of the more
popular curricula with these groups, and you can probably get 'em cheap,
including teacher editions. Saxon math focuses on skill-building at the
sacrifice of concept connections. But for that reason, Saxon math more nearly
self-service. - GJ
