web page lays out some very interesting formulas along with a neat applet. My
only complaint is that the page never explains the derivation of these formulas,
but they are easily derived. Moreover, the subsequent chapters take this idea
and use it to prove the v • u = vucos A definition for dot product as well
as the law of cosines. I thought this was pretty neat because the oftquoted
proof of the law of cosines is ugly, requiring an analysis of two different
cases.
