Real life application of horizontal shift:

Pete leaves home at midday and cycles at 10 km/h. If Pete is y km from home at x
h after midday, what does the graph of Pete’s journey look like on an x-y
diagram?

Pete’s sister Sue leaves home 1 h later and cycles after Pete at 10 km/h. If Sue
is y km from home at x h after midday, what does the graph of Sue’s journey look
like on an x-y diagram?

What is the connection between Sue’s graph and Pete’s graph?

What are the equations of the two graphs?
