This is one for the fine folks at USU or Shodor or anywhere else, for that
matter:  What about a java applet that will take two parametric equations, allow
the user (student) to place different objects (such as two ships, or a frog and
a fly, etc.) at the "trace point" on the two parametric paths, then run the
parametrization to see if impact occurs?  A more sophisticated version might
require the user to set time and frame (x-y) windows and scaling; options to
trace the paths as the objects move, or just show objects moving...
