For graphs to make conceptual sense, they must be compared with the tables and
equations that produce them as well as the context they all repesent.  Algebraic
fluency means understanding the connections between GETS- Graphs, Equations,
Tables, and Stories.  A student "GETS" it when they can move fluidly between all
four and dig deep into the connections.  One of the better activities I have
seen that does this is to give a student one of the four components, have them
determine the other three components, and create questions such as what does the
x-intercept mean or when, "y-value" is... what is "x-value"?
