It may help your class to have a good discussion about inclusion of
Parallelograms as part of Trapezoids by demonstrating with Geometer's Sketchpad.
Create a quadrilateral with one pair of sides that is constructed to be
parallel. Move the other sides so they may or may not be parallel. This is a
visual way of showing that parallelograms should (in my opinion) be included.
