If this is a Math7 discussion I guess you are not talking about transformations
of function graphs, but still the topic might be addressed with something
similar to my Shift&Scale applet
(see http://www.langara.bc.ca/~acooper/mathlets/Shift&Scale/index.htm )

- perhaps with the equation given in terms of x and y rather than as a function,
and with the controls being restricted to replacing x with ax, or y with by (for
parameters a and b), and independent zooming of width and height.

This would not take long to set up if you are interested.
