| Description: | The AL Abacus beads are grouped in fives and tens for quick recognition of quantities. This will minimize counting, encourage visualization, and provide strategies and mental images for learning and mastering the facts.
On the front side, each bead has a value of one. Download some addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division lessons using the front side of the AL Abacus. Link in the second blue box on the left. On the trading side, beads have value depending upon which column they are in. Two wires are used for the 1000s, the 100s, the 10s, and the 1s; the two columns need to be kept as even as possible for quick recognition. Use the Guide link to sample lessons with step-by-step instructions in using the abacus tool. |
