| Description: | Every school child has played with a pool ball on a rectangular table or a carom puck on a square board. What would change if the table were a triangle or a pentagon? PolygonTrix is a game that shows how tricky the dynamics can be inside a regular polygon of three to nine sides. The game proceeds from a straight "World Line", through world lines with 10 deflections. Counts are earned for involving different sides of the polygons. Each event is rewarded with a geodesic "flux" or extension of the "World Line" through 512 deflections. Players will see that each polygon shape has characteristic flux patterns. The online FAQ poses and answers some questions. The player can switch polygons at any time. Compare with PolygonFlux - a tool for direct manipulation of the flux from a few lines through thousands of lines, forming incredibly intricate patterns. |
