| Description: | This interactive tool is one of a series of tools created by Conceptua Math that are designed for teacher-facilitated instruction. Through the use of this tool, teachers can help students make sense of equivalent fractions by linking visual models to words and procedures. Students learn the value of multiplying a fraction by another fraction with a value of 1. The concept is developed through the use of a variety of models that include pies, vertical bar, horizontal bar, area, set and number line. In addition to the models a students complete a sentence with guides them through the procedure and strengthens their understanding of equivalence. The tool works well on an interactive white board and includes a floating number pad for number entry. | ||
