1997 Mathematics Puzzle 1997
Rules: You may only use the digits 1,9,9, and 7. You may use these digits in any order with the operations +, -, x, ÷, ^(raised to a power), square root, and factorial. Grouping symbols my also be used. Your answers must be written in the boxes below with no equal signs. Correct format: (1 + 9) x 9 + 7. Incorrect format: 1 + 0 = 10 x 9 = 90 + 7 = 97. Also, two digit numbers (such as 19, 91, 97, 99) may NOT be used.

This week's puzzle is a little different in
that no one person is expected to find all 100 expressions. In fact, no
one knows (yet) if it is possible to find an expression for each number.You
may submit just one expression or many expression. Updates will be posted
daily. Send in new expressions every day and watch the list grow. Check
