Cinderella's Castle  
The Problem of Selecting a Route Around Disney's Magic Kingdom
   On a recent vacation trip to Florida, the Baxton family toured Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. They started their day by walking down Main Street to Cinderella's Castle which was decorated as a huge Birthday cake for the 25th anniversary. While standing in front of the castle, the family tried to decide where to go next. There are 6 other lands to visit. Little Davy wanted to go to Frontierland first and then to Adventureland. Monica couldn't wait to visit with the characters in Mickey's Starland and ride Dumbo's Flying Elephants in Fantasyland. Eric just wanted to ride the Alien Encounter in Tomorrowland and the Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square. The family must stay together and so their mother decides that they should plot out their route for the entire day before leaving the Castle Courtyard.

  1. How many different routes are possible to visit the 6 different lands?
  2. If the family spends one minute considering each of the possible routes how long will they spend in the Castle Courtyard?
