As we work through mathematical activities, struggle with understanding them, and/or help others gain understanding, please think about things like:
  • What is the nature of activities that make it possible for teachers and students focus on the learning and understand what is happening?
  • How do I learn? How do students learn?
  • What is the nature of the learning of this student opposed to another student? What environment precipitates it?

10:15 Discuss Key Elements of Math Forum Workshops
10:45 Group exploration of Workshop Algebraic Reasoning
  • Assign groups to different weeks.
  • Each group discuss big ideas covered, fidelity to the framework, record thoughts and comments
  • Report out and discuss
12:00 Lunch
  • lunch will be set up in Korman, Room 247
  • menu: Greek salad and pizza (choices will include slices of: Greek, pepperoni, Hawaiian, white w/tomato slices and broccoli, mushroom)
