This is the summary of a presentation given at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, January 10-13, 1996, Orlando, Florida.

Using MathKit lessons in first-year mainstream calculus

MathKit lessons were used last fall (1995) for calculus laboratory exercises and in-class demonstrations in our first-year mainstream calculus course. We will discuss specific examples of both the demonstrations and the laboratory exercises used and share the reactions and comments of our students about both.
