This is the summary of a presentation given at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, January 10-13, 1996, Orlando, Florida.

Difficulty is often encountered when pre-service teachers are asked to describe the possible relationships between elementary geometric objects such as points, lines, and planes. We assess to what degree the ability to sketch these objects improves the student's ability to visualize them accurately. We examine the method and results of this experiment.
