Data Analysis, Statistics and Probability Summary
Monday - Friday, July 11 - 15, 2005
The week began with the group continuing to work on their projects. The census group held a meeting to decide if there was any overlap in the ideas each was pursuing. On Tuesday, before continuing to work on our projects, participants were reminded to given the title and names of members of their group by the end of working group time. Three groups exchanged projects for feed back. The feedback was to be returned to the group in hard copy.
Thursday, Carol reminded us that she needed a hard copy of all projects by the end of working group time. Due to some prior difficulty in the editing process, we will now be required to have a separate file containing a copy all figures, graphics and pictures. The original figures, graphics and pictures are to remain in the appropriate location in the original documents, so that those field testing will be able to use the documents without having to search for all the pieces of the document. Participants were reminded they should review the submission process located at the PCMI website. All files, including the cover sheet, are to be placed in a folder, which will then be zipped or stuffed before forwarding them to Carol at the end of class today. A reminder was given that all equations should be created using the equation editor in Word because those without MathType will have difficulty reading the equation.
Friday the group presented their project ideas to the rest of the SSTP group and then listened to presentations from the other groups.
