    Solar Panels - Nov. 28-Dec. 2, 1994

Bipin came into geometry class one day. "My dad's gonna add solar panels to our house. And he wants our class to help!"

"Neat!" said Betty. "What can we do?"

Bipin replied, "Here's the design. Our roof, which is AB and BC, is symmetric - AB and BC are the same. He wants to extend AB by 10 feet, which will make it big enough for the solar panels. From the top of that, which is F, he'll drop a wall straight down to the existing roof. The first thing he needs to know is how far down the roof this straight wall will hit. When we get that, he can start ripping things out."
