"Excuse me. Mr. Jones?""Yes, Adam?" said Mr. Jones.
"Matt and I have a problem for this week's quiz. I know you like that sort of thing 'round here."
"Go ahead, Adam. We sure do!"
"Okay. My mom gave me this one. She was finishing one of her new flower beds yesterday, and has to decide where to put the sprinkler head. The garden is a triangle 20 feet by 18 feet by 16 feet. The sprinker is one of those ones that goes around in a circle. She needs to know where to put it so that it covers all three corners of the garden."
"Well," said Mr. Jones. "Wouldn't that also depend on how far the sprinkler sprays?"
"Yea, well, that's part of the problem too. The sprinkler has three settings, which she figures will spray 10, 11, or 12 feet. She needs to figure out which one to use so that she gets everything, but doesn't spray further than she needs to."
"Good question!" said Mr. Jones. "Why don't we have that quiz right now?"
